Chap is an elderly,foul-mouthed man that operates Chap's Gas Station, the spot where you gain access to the Junker. Much like many of the Stranded, Chap blames the COG for the increased number of Locust, but he aids you in dispatching of enemies at the station. He carries a Boltok pistol and can be quite useful, especially on the increased difficulty. He also accompanies Marcus and Dominic on the Junker ride, shouting about how bad their driving is.

It is unknown what happened to Chap during the Locust attack on the Stranded settlement, but he reappears in Gears of War 2, being one of the Stranded Delta encounter in the Hollow.

He is later evacuated to the surface with others.
