Baird is a brilliant addition to the squad. He's an incredibly cocky and arrogant member of Alpha Squad who is later grouped in with Delta Squad. Baird is an unparalleled technician and engineer whose techniques and talents are put to shown in the in situations such as repairing the APC (Laverne) and once the Resonator had failed. He also seems to know the most knowledge of the Locust, this is shown when he is quickly able to identify the Theron Guard and inform the rest of the squad. For a start Damon didn't like Marcus because Marcus got promotion to leader and therefore Damon was jealous, Alhough after time Damon starts to like Marcus more and is loyal to him and the team. In Gears of War 2, Baird seems to have taken a role in another squad along with Cole. Baird is considered to be an extremely capable soldier who is constantly promoted, but then demoted again as if hes not happy then he will not agree with his superiors, so is an unpleasant soldier at times.
