The War Journal is a new feature in the Gears of War series that can be found in the Gears of War 2 main lobby that allows you to track multiple things. These are things such as achievements, the progression of your achievements, collectibles found, unlockables, etc. If you are to look at the collectibles you have found in the game, it will give background information about the items such as Cog Tags, the Locust Calendar found, and even... well the Necklace of Fingers you find during the game.
